Optical Imaging Engineer

As an optical imaging engineer you will work together with a multidisciplinary team of experts to realize innovations of MILabs high-performance optical imaging systems. In this function you will focus on development, implementation, evaluation and documentation of new techniques to extend and improve the capabilities of the optical module. Next to the development on hardware and software to obtain quantitative 2D and 3D bio-luminescence and fluorescence images you will also participate to bring new products to the market by supporting the transfer from design to production and service.

What can you expect?

• Develop next generation optical imaging systems and subsystems
• Develop hardware and software to obtain quantitative 2D and 3D bio-luminescence and fluorescence images
• Support the production department to get new developments in production
• Teach the service department to install and maintain optical (sub)systems

What we expect from you:

• Physics or relevant engineering background (e.g. M.SC or Ph.D)

• Several years of work experience in optical imaging or equivalent
• Excellent understanding of and hands-on experience with optical imaging physics (camera, lenses, filters, lasers, geometry, etc.)
• Good programming skills for hardware control and image processing (LabVIEW, Python)
• Collaborative and hands-on team member with a proactive approach and determination to bring innovative solutions for successful product implementation.
